The Centre focuses on three major research areas: Elections, Parties, and Public Opinion; Challenging the State: Theory and Practice; and Democratic Governance and Public Policy.

The Centre has an interdisciplinary set of over 30 faculty and graduate students from Simon Fraser, as well as affiliates from across the province, country and internationally.
